Publication in Science

Our latest publication, Whole organism lineage tracing by combinatorial and cumulative genome editing uses CRISPR to progressively introduce mutations into a DNA barcode within a developing zebrafish in order to track the lineage of the cells within the adult organism. We find that the cells in adult organs derive from relatively few embryonic progenitors.

Congratulations to the first author, postdoc Jamie, and his co-first authors Aaron McKenna and Gregory Findlay from the Shendure lab.
