Our latest paper "Simultaneous single-cell profiling of lineages and cell types in the vertebrate brain" was published in Nature Biotechnology.
In this study, Bushra and colleagues combined single cell RNA-seq with GESTALT, a CRISPR/Cas9 barcode editing strategy for lineage tracing. Combining these methods with an inducible system that allowed lineage information to be acquired from multiple time points, they identified over 100 cell types and marker genes, and constructed a lineage tree of the juvenile zebrafish brain.
