Students from Mott Hall Bridges Academy (MHBA) in Brooklyn visited the Schier lab to learn about zebrafish embryogenesis with Tessa and Alex as part of their one-day trip to Harvard. The students set up mating experiments in the zebrafish facility, collected embryos, and watched the beating hearts of 2 day old fish under the microscope, including fish with fluorescent blood cells.
This trip was organized by Harvard and MHBA after the school was featured on Humans of New York, and a fundraiser was initiated to raise money for the school.
